Pastor Charlie E. Nickerson

Pastor - Blue Suit copyPastor Charlie E. Nickerson is a great man of God.  Pastor, Counselor, Teacher, Father, and Servant are just a few of the titles of this overseer.  He is a native of Fort Worth, TX and a proud graduate of the 1975 Dunbar Wildcats.  After graduating high school, he attended Tarrant County Junior College and later Andersonville Theological Seminary.  He is the proud Pastor and Founder of the Good Shepherd Temple of Praise Church in Fort Worth, TX.

Pastor Nickerson grew up in Mayfield Baptist Church under the leadership of Rev. R. V. Jones, here in Fort Worth.  After a courtship and marriage to Deborah Bowman Nickerson, he moved his membership to Greater Mt. Tabor Missionary Baptist Church, under the leadership of his father-in-law Pastor E. L. Bowman.  Pastor Nickerson was ordained as a deacon in 1979 and after accepting his call to preach, licensed as a minister in 1981 by his Father in the ministry, Pastor E. L. Bowman.

Pastor Nickerson has always been a man of high integrity and dependability.  He often tells the story of his first call to pastor at Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist Church, in the Triggs Community of Texarkana, Arkansas.  He and his wife would drive hours from Fort Worth to Texarkana every Friday night to be in worship Sunday morning.  He pastored the Mt. Zion church for 5 years.  The Lord called him from the highway in 1992, when he founded Good Shepherd Missionary Baptist Church.

Pastor Nickerson is known for his humility and  his deeds of love for the flock he has been called to shepherd.  He believes in being led by the Holy Spirit and trust that God will continue to strengthen him to feed every sheep so that they may fulfill the work of the Lord through their God-given gifts and talents.

He is the husband and best friend of Deborah Gail Nickerson.  Together they have four beautiful children:  Damesha, Antwanette, Nickolas and AnTjuan and ten precious grandchildren:  Kennedi, Tiara, Myles, Kolbi,  Alyssa, Mycah, Bryson, Amari, Braidyn and Kylan.
